Postdoctoral Fellow in Object Perception, Hearing Impairment, and Neuroimaging
Macquarie University, Sydney in collaboration with Eriksholm Research Center,
Denmark, and the William Demant Foundation, is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral research fellow to investigate how the auditory brain represents objects that emerge from acoustic backgrounds, including how the perception and neural representation of auditory
objects varies in listeners with hearing impairment. This project is part of a broader international collaboration led by Professor David McAlpine and Dr Hamish Innes-Brown that will provide the applicant with extensive opportunities to engage in impactful
industry-linked research, including with hearing-aid users at Eriksholm Research Center. The project has a three-year time frame and includes comprehensive behavioural and neuroimaging (fNIRS and EEG) data acquisition and analysis.
Individuals with a background in neuroscience, hearing, speech, and cognitive
science are encouraged to apply. Experience with data acquisition and neuroimaging methods is preferred. A research doctorate is required. The project is fully funded for three years and will be administered through Macquarie University, based at the Australian
Hearing Hub. Please contact david.mcalpine@xxxxxxxxx for further enquiries.
