We are looking to appoint a Teaching Technician to support the delivery of Audiology programmes within the Manchester Centre for Audiology and Deafness (ManCAD). The appointee will deliver the technical support for all Audiology teaching activities within the
Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health (FBMH) Division of Human Communication and Deafness based in the Ellen Wilkinson Building. The role will require close liaison with academic staff for technical/equipment requirements timetabling and access to laboratory
spaces, and will include some demonstration/supervision of techniques/ equipment to students. Working as a member of a small team, the post holder will be responsible for managing a suite of teaching laboratories for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG)
teaching of Audiology and Deaf Education, including support of postgraduate research projects. This will involve class set up, equipment calibration and testing, purchasing and housekeeping. The postholder will be responsible for troubleshooting and rectifying
problems with classes and ensuring that the teaching areas are fully equipped and fit for purpose at all times, to maintain high standards required for training students for clinical practice. The post holder will assist teaching team members in ensuring that
staff and students operate safe working practices in compliance with The University of Manchester’s Health and Safety policies and current national legislation.
