Dear colleagues, Due to ongoing concerns about the health risks of the COVID-19 global pandemic and associated travel restrictions, the organizing committee of ISAAR has decided to make our 2021 conference a virtual meeting in the week
23-27 august. The topic of ISAAR 2021 is “The auditory system throughout life - Models, mechanisms and interventions.” The concept is to consider this topic from different perspectives, including current physiological concepts, perceptual measures
and models, electrophysiology and neuroscience approaches, as well as implications for hearing devices and new technical applications.
Our invited speakers at ISAAR 2021 are: Session I: The neural bases of age-related hearing loss Charles Liberman, Daniel Polley, Karen Steel Session II: The developing auditory system Dan Sanes, Deniz Baskent, Teresa Ching Session III: The aging auditory brain Barbara Shinn-Cunningham, Jonathan Simon, Björn Herrmann Session IV: Cognitive aging: Mechanisms and interventions Stuart Rosen, Frank Lin, Diane Lazard Session V: Rehabilitation and compensation strategies Ruth Litovsky, Pamela Souza, Anna Warzybok, Tobias Neher We will also have contributed talks and will organize poster sessions as well. There won’t be parallel sessions but only one major stream.
