[AUDITORY] Lab manager positions at Linguistics/Cognitive sciences in Potsdam

Linguistics/Cognitive sciences in Potsdam seeks to fill in 2 lab manager positions (full-time & permanent). One position is for Acoustics and articulatory phonetics laboratory and one for EEG laboratory.

Laboratory technician for acoustic and articulatory phonetics

The position is full-time, that is, for 40 hours per week and this is a permanent position. The pay scale, with monthly gross income in Euro, is available at http://oeffentlicher-dienst.info/tv-l/ost/ - known as TV-L Band 11 with the specific salary level within this Band depending on prior experience


Main duties include providing technical support for the research groups of Prof. Dr. Outi Tuomainen and Prof. Dr. Adamantios Gafos at the Department of Linguistics at the University of Potsdam with specialization in acoustic/articulatory phonetics and auditory processing in children and adults.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area (e.g. physics, phonetics, acoustics, computational linguistics, cognitive science) with a strong focus on  research technology and research methodology  and / or relevant professional qualification and / or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience with relevant techniques, hardware and software in the field of experimental phonetics and signal processing (e.g. via previous professional experience and/or publications).
  • Ability to share knowledge and skills regarding the technical aspects of laboratory work.
  • Good knowledge of both German and English is desirable.
