Re: [AUDITORY] Whistled Speech research

Dear Ani Patel,

I am afraid most of them are in Spanish (e.g., https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=es&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=silbo+gomero&btnG=https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=es&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=silbo+gomero+tesis&btnG=). Attached you may find some examples. Note that there are some local organizations that seek to investigate it and promote its use and recognition, and which could be of interest (e.g., Asociación de Investigación «Yo Silbo», Canarias, España).

All the best,

Dear list,

I'm looking for looking for publications, theses or data sets on the whistled language Silbo Gormero, a whistled Spanish language used in the Canary Islands. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silbo_Gomero)

I'm aware of the excellent book by Julien Meyer Whistled Languages (2015) and the references therein.  I'm especially interested in more recent work or unpublished theses.

Thanks,

Ani Patel
