[AUDITORY] Reminder - PhD Studentship: Identifying objective measures of conversation success (Glasgow/Stockholm)

Dear list,

A New Year reminder of our current PhD opportunity. We are assessing applications on a rolling basis (ignore what the job website says), so do not hesitate to apply!

We are looking for smart and motivated candidates for a fully-funded PhD project, based in the Scottish Section of the University of Nottingham’s Hearing Sciences department (location Glasgow). This is a thriving centre of research into how people use their hearing, how hearing impairment affects them, and how new technologies might help.

The project aims to establish objective measures of behaviour indicative of conversation success/difficulty, with a focus on difficulties experienced by people with hearing loss. Techniques will include qualitative methods and quantitative experiments in our behaviour tracking lab. The project will also involve short secondments to our industrial partner’s research site in Stockholm.

For more details, see https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/jobs/currentvacancies/ref/MED1553

If this might be something for you or for someone you know, please get in touch.

Thanks!

Graham Naylor
