[AUDITORY] Graduate student positions at UNLV

Dear colleagues,

Please share with prospective Ph.D. students you know. Joel Snyder and I are currently considering applicants for Ph.D. study in Experimental Psychology at University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the Auditory Cognition and Development Lab and in the Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience Lab. We have facilities supporting adult and child behavioral research (perceptual judgment, sensory-motor synchronization, cross-cultural on-line studies), adult and child electrophysiology (high-density EEG recordings), and infant perception (looking time procedures). New facilities also exist for transcranial magnetic and electrical brain stimulation, and compatible EEG. Across the two labs we address basic questions about music perception (beat and rhythm processing), music acquisition and enculturation in infancy and childhood, comparisons of music and language, auditory scene analysis, auditory memory, and change detection. Interested applicants with appropriate qualifications (bachelor’s or master’s degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Computer Science, or other related disciplines) are encouraged to visit the ACDL and/or ACNL web sites for further information about our research, email the lab directors (erin.hannon@xxxxxxxxjoel.snyder@xxxxxxxx) with any questions, and apply directly to the UNLV graduate school (developmental area for Hannon and cognitive or neuroscience area for Snyder).
