[AUDITORY] Research Grant in project in northern Portugal



There is a vacancy for 1 Research Grant (BI) under the project "Paterson - Prototyping medical AcousTic Environments for the deSign of New auditory warning signals" (project nº 31943), financed by the European Development Fund Regional Program (ERDF) through the Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Program (COMPETE 2020) and the State Budget.

Field of study: Computer Engineering, Electronics, Acoustics, Computer Science or related fields

 

Admission requirements: Academic training at Masters level. Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Acoustics, Computer Science or similar; priority will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following topics: acoustics, auralization, MAX-MSP programming; Fluency in English (spoken and written).

 

Activity plan: The selected candidate will develop research and development activities within the framework of the above-mentioned project, which deals with the design of new sound stimuli for the hospital environment. Specifically, it will provide support in the sound pickup, in the generation of new sound stimuli for application in tests, and in the construction of a virtual sound space - and its documentation.

 

Workplace: The work will be developed at the Centro Computação Gráfica, with headquarters in Guimarães, under the scientific guidance of Dr. Emanuel Sousa.

 

Duration of the scholarships: The scholarship will last for 3 months, starting in March 2019. The scholarship contract may be renewed until the end of the project.

 

Value of the monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the scholarship will be 980 € according to the table of values of the grants awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in the Country (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).

 

Formalization of Applications: Candidates must present their applications by means of a motivation letter, accompanied by a detailed Curriculum Vitae, a copy of the Certificate of Qualifications, with a breakdown of the qualifications obtained for the courses.
