A postdoctoral position is available in the Cochlear Implant and Hearing Aid Research Laboratory in the Oregon Hearing Research Center at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon, USA. https://www.ohsu.edu/xd/health/services/ent/research/cochlear-implant-lab/ The lab focuses on binaural fusion and spectral integration, and how these affect speech perception in quiet and in noise. Potential projects range from psychophysical testing to computational modeling of data.
Other projects include how to apply this information to design novel training and compensation strategies to improve speech perception with hearing devices. These questions are studied in adults and children with normal-hearing, hearing loss/hearing aids,
and cochlear implants. Requirements include: 1) a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a hearing-related field; 2) Experience with designing psychophysical experiments and
working with human subjects; 3) Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Preference will be given to individuals who have experience with perceptual or computational models, and programming in MATLAB and/or C++.
Interested applicants should send a cover letter, CV, and contact information for three references to the lab director, Lina Reiss at
