[AUDITORY] Universal Acoustical Communication month, Sendai Japan
Dear Colleagues,
The organizing committee of the Universal Acoustical Communication (UAC)
Month invites researchers to participate in the events to be held in
Sendai, Japan during the second half of October.
The main event will be the International Symposium on Universal
Acoustical Communication, featuring keynote lectures and a poster session
for contributed presentations. In addition, a series of satellite
seminars is planned for focused discussion on specific topics. The
seminars will consist of tutorials, keynote lectures and invited lectures
by selected young researchers. Distinguished presenters include
John Culling, Torsten Dau, Hedwig Gockel, Craig Jin, Fred Juang, Birger
Kollmeier, Charles Liberman, Brian Moore, Andrew Oxenham, Aleksander Sek,
Charles Spence and William Yost.
Events (October 2018):
22(Mon)-24(Wed): Symposium on Universal Communication (main event)
20(Sat): Seminar on music, sound, speech and artificial intelligence
20(Sat)-22(Mon): Seminar on psychology and brain sciences related to
hearing and multisensory processing
24(Wed)-26(Fri): Seminar on brain, hearing and speech sciences for
universal speech communication
29(Thu)-30(Fri): Seminar on the spatial aspects of hearing and their
applications

Fees and registration:
- Payment of a registration fee is required to attend the symposium
- Discounted symposium registration is available to those attending at
least one seminar
- Participation in the satellite seminars is free
