We are pleased to announce the special session “Novel Paradigms for Direct Synthesis based on Speech-Related Biosignals” to be held at Interspeech 2018, Hyderabad, India, during 2-6 September 2018 (http://interspeech2018.org).

We cordially invite you to participate in the special session by submitting your recent work on the field. Any work on silent speech and/or speech synthesis from speech-related biosignals will be considered relevant to the special session. Particular topics include, but are not limited to:
  * Speech Synthesis from Speech-Related Biosignals,
  * Speech Recognition from Biosignals,
  * Articulatory Synthesis
  * Acquisition of non-acoustic speech data using different modalities (e.g. Electromyography, Electroencephalography, Electrocorticography, Electromagnetic Articulography, Permanent Magnet Articulography, Ultrasound, Video, etc.),
  * Silent Speech Interfaces,
  * Lip Reading,
  * Neural Representations of Speech and Language.

Depending on the number of accepted submissions, the session will include oral presentations as well as posters, and – if time permits – live demonstrations of direct synthesis systems.

You can find further details at http://www.uni-bremen.de/index.php?id=18619 .

Paper submissions must conform on the format defined on the Interspeech web site (http://interspeech2018.org/papers/). When submitting the paper, please indicate that the paper should be included in the Special Session on Novel Paradigms for Direct Synthesis based on Speech-Related Biosignals.
