Starkey Hearing Technologies, an equal opportunity employer and a recognized world leader in providing the highest quality hearing technology available, has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior DSP research engineer at its international headquarters located in Minnesota, USA. This position is responsible for research and development of signal processing and machine learning algorithms for hearing devices and related accessories.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer science or related field is required. Candidates with a Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or related field and 5+ years of applicable experience may be considered. Research and development experience in hearing aids or cochlear implants is highly desirable. Research and development experience in modern machine learning and signal processing algorithms is a strong plus.

Skills

Proficiency in Matlab or Python is required
Proficiency in C, C++ or C# is required
Advanced knowledge of digital signal processing is required
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
Strong interpersonal skills are required
Technical leadership in a research project is required
Proficiency in modern machine learning techniques such as deep neural networks, NMF or Bayesian learning is highly desirable
Familiarity with typical hearing aid algorithms, such as multiple-channel compression, speech enhancement, noise suppression, feedback cancellation, or environment classification algorithms is a strong plus

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
