The Starkey Hearing Research Center (SHRC) in Berkeley, CA is seeking a creative and energetic hearing scientist/engineer to join an interdisciplinary team that is creating highly innovative listening solutions that touch the lives of millions around the world. We seek a person to join our team who is adept at building machine listening systems, especially those that analyze and understand auditory scenes, and applying these systems to solutions for better listening by users of hearing aids.

Researchers at the SHRC create and apply insights across a range of disciplines including hearing science, cognitive neuroscience, speech communication, audiology, machine learning, and audio signal processing to the development of new audio processing algorithms, new diagnostic-based fitting procedures, and new patient-benefit validation approaches. The position is responsible for conducting research on the application of machine listening systems to enhance listening for people with hearing impairment, with the aim of providing innovative solutions that are instantiated in Starkey’s product pipeline. The position will report to the Director of the Starkey Hearing Research Center.
