The School of Audiology/Population Health at The University of Auckland is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor/Clinical Director of The Hearing House.

The Opportunity

  • You will provide academic leadership and develop a research programme in the area of hearing science and speech therapy
  • You will be responsible for the overall delivery, development and outcomes of The Hearing House clinical programme
  • Your research will be linked to creating positive outcomes for The Hearing House
  • You will contribute to teaching in appropriate programmes and courses as aligned with the needs of the Faculty
  • You will supervise both Masters and PHD students
  • You will have a strong focus on customer service, reviewing the programme and developing continuous improvements to drive performance to ensure the best possible service delivery
  • You will manage a variety of key stakeholder relationships
  • You will ensure that clients outcomes are comparable to internationally recognised centres of excellence

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have a PhD, or international equivalent
  • Have a Masters in Audiology NZ, or international equivalent
  • Qualifications in speech therapy or Auditory-Verbal Therapy or similar work experience will be viewed favourably
  • Have a Certificate of Clinical Competence, or international equivalent
  • Have a minimum of 10 years working across paediatric and adult audiology populations with an appropriate level of experience within cochlear implant programme
  • Have proven ability to develop and direct a research and clinical team
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
