12-Month Tenure Track Audiology Faculty Positions

in Communication Sciences & Disorders at the University of Memphis

 

The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Memphis is seeking applicants for two available tenure-track positions in Audiology at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank with an expected start date of either January 3, 2018 or August 15, 2018, depending on applicant availability. Mid-career academic researchers are encouraged to apply.

A successful candidate will teach graduate level courses, pursue programmatic research, interact with the clinical program of the School, advise students, and provide service to the school and university. We seek a candidate with an established record of publications and evidence of success in obtaining extramural funding.

These positions are open to all qualified applicants but we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: pediatrics, auditory neuroscience, electrophysiology, vestibular function, and cochlear implants.

Applicants must have earned a PhD or other research doctorate by the start date. Clinical certification, eligibility for state licensure, and post-doctoral experience demonstrating advanced research training are preferred but not required.

The School of CSD (http://www.memphis.edu/csd/) is a historically top-ranked program offering graduate degrees in Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology, and research-oriented PhDs. The School is housed in a beautiful and contemporary new building with state-of-the-art teaching, research, and clinical facilities (www.memphis.edu/chbuilding/).  Collaborative opportunities exist within the school and with other units in the University, including the Institute for Intelligent Systems (an interdisciplinary cognitive science research cooperative, http://www.memphis.edu/iis/), School of Health Studies, School of Public Health, School of Nursing, Psychology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and the School of Music. We also have strong links to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and local audiology and medical communities.
