[AUDITORY] Two Post-doctoral Associate Positions Available at UMN

The following job posting has been posted on behalf of Dr. Magdelena Wojtczak:

Position Type: Post-Doctoral Associate

Job Description:
This ad is for two full-time Postdoctoral Associate positions in the Auditory Perception and Cognition Laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota. The accepted candidates will work on one of two NIH funded R01 grants with Dr. Magdalena Wojtczak. Both grants involve research in humans using a combination of psychophysical (behavioral) and noninvasive physiological methods, such as otoacoustic emissions and electroencephalographic (EEG) sound evoked potentials. The main focus of one grant is on cochlear synaptopathy and its consequences for auditory processing and perception. The focus of the other grant is functional role of the efferent system in humans.

The responsibilities include subject recruitment, data collection, data analysis, preparation of manuscripts and conference presentations. The positions offer plenty of opportunities for professional growth in areas that are currently of broad interest in hearing research. In addition to working in our lab, the research staff has access to the facilities at our Center for Applied and Translational Sensory Science (http://catss.umn.edu).

The successful candidates must have (or be close to receiving) a PhD in Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Audiology, or other related disciplines with interest and, preferably, experience in hearing research. Good Matlab command is strongly favored.
The appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal for additional two years based on job performance. Interested candidates should submit the following documents by September 1, 2017:

1) A current CV
2) A cover letter with a statement of research interests related to either grant
3) Names and contacts for three referees willing to write letters of recommendation.
The steps for applying are described below. Please, contact Dr. Magdalena Wojtczak at wojtc001@xxxxxxx for any additional information.
