We are inviting applications for a continuing (i.e. permanent) position of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Audiology at the University of Canterbury. This status is equivalent to a (tenured) Assistant Professor in the US system.

As the successful appointee, you will be required to develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in areas relevant to Audiology, preferably with a specialism in paediatrics. Additional expertise in auditory processing disorders would be an advantage.

You will be able to teach individually and collaboratively where required, supervise student research, particularly for students enrolled in the Master of Audiology and PhD programmes, while being an effective mentor for postgraduate research students. You must have a demonstrated capacity to extend your own research portfolio, and to develop and maintain links with relevant community organizations, professional bodies and colleagues nationally and internationally. A record of excellent research and publications within the field of Audiology is a key requirement, with a more extensive and advanced research and publication track-record required for appointment at advanced level. Evidence of a commitment to excellent teaching and research, along with potential or demonstrated ability to lead research programmes and gain external funding will be required.

You must have a PhD in Audiology and be eligible for full membership of the New Zealand Audiological Society, or equivalent. Further details on the Department of Communication Disorders can be found at http://www.cmds.canterbury.ac.nz/
