PhD Scholarship in HCI (Multimodal Interfaces / Sound and Physical computing) in Spain
We are currently recruiting a funded PhD studentship in Human Computer Interaction/Physical Computing at Universidad Loyola Andalucia, Seville. The successful candidate will be co-supervised by Dr Ana Tajadura-Jiménez at Universidad Loyola Andalucía (https://www.researchgate.net/
The appointee will join a multidisciplinary and international team to work within the framework of the Spanish-funded project "MAGICSHOES: Changing sedentary lifestyles by altering mental body representation using sensory feedback” www.magicshoesproject.com. The aim of MAGICSHOES is to conduct a systematic study of novel applications that integrate body-tracking and sound feedback and which can make a positive impact on emotional and physical health. The tasks of the appointee will involve designing wearable prototypes integrating body-tracking and sound feedback, and conducting experimental studies using a variety of HCI, psychophysical and psychophysiological methods.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants should have an MSc degree (or equivalent) relevant to the research project and good English skills (level equivalent to Cambridge FCE). They should not hold a PhD degree or have had a pre-doctoral contract for more than 12 months. Previous research experience on HCI, sound computing, physical computing, multimodal interfaces and good programming skills are highly desirable. Applicants should be enthusiastic, well motivated and be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
