Dear colleagues,

we invite you or your students to participate at the International Spring

School on Human Technology Cooperation "smart@work", which will be held in

Dresden, Germany, from March 5 to 11, 2017. The event mainly targets PhD

students, researchers and skilled practitioners.

Within the field of human technology cooperation, smart@work will focus on

how human beings can interact with machines and computers in future work

scenarios. The goal is to facilitate cooperation between people and

technology as partners on equal footing, and to benefit from their

respective strengths. With the objective of satisfying needs from multiple

perspectives, several disciplines collaborate, aiming for major key aspects

such as:

-        Designing professional work of the future in a holistic way with

the human-in-the-loop

-        Using novel smart technologies including mobile devices and

Augmented or Mixed Reality experiences

-        Investigating appropriate natural multimodal interaction and

visualization approaches

-        Applying novel prototyping, fabrication and user experience

evaluation techniques

For seven days, PhD students and Postdocs from around the world will discuss

and elaborate a vision of being smart@work. Leading international scientists

will share their experience at the highest international level. A broad mix

of lectures, keynote speeches, workshops, hands-on sessions and excursions

will stimulate the academic exchange and foster focused, results-oriented,

and high quality scientific work. The workshop will be accompanied by

leisure activities in the beautiful city of Dresden, the cosmopolitan

metropolis of art and science.

We are happy to welcome three internationally recognized experts as keynote

speakers:

Prof. Patrick Baudisch (Human Computer Interaction Lab, Hasso Plattner

Institute at Potsdam University)

Prof. Stephen Brewster (Multimodal Interaction Group, University of

Glasgow)

Axel Platz (Corporate Technology - User Interface Design, Siemens AG)

Besides an interesting week, we also offer all participants basic financial

support:

-        Free accommodation, basic meals, local transport

-        Travel allowance up to several hundred Euros (depending on

individual travel costs)
