position in neuroscience – Multisensory integration
One Postdoctoral
research fellow position is available to work on a project
directed by Pascal
Girard at the Brain and Cognition
Research Center (Centre de recherche
Cerveau et Cognition - CerCo) in Toulouse, France. The main objective of the project is
to explore the neuronal mechanisms of visuo-auditory
integration in the macaque auditory cortex. The project
combines behavioral training of awake rhesus macaque monkeys
coupled with reversible inactivation (cooling) of the auditory
cortex. This project is part of a broader project including
investigations in multisensory processing in humans or NHP in
the team ‘C3P’ directed by Pascal Barone in CerCo and funded by
the French Agence Nationale de Recherche (ANR). The CerCo is a

Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. Skills: Candidate should hold a PhD. Candidate
should have robust knowledge in sensory neurophysiology and
animal behavior. Training with nonhuman primates is a strong
advantage. Adequate training with matlab is also a clear
advantage. Candidate should be fluent in English; mastering of
French is not mandatory. Salary will be in accordance with French norms for
Postdoc. The initial appointment is 18 months.
