FACULTY POSITIONS IN COGNITIVE NEUROSCIENCE (2)
Western University is investing in a Cluster of Research Excellence in
Cognitive Neuroscience to build on significant research strengths in
this area. Details on the Clusters and Western Research Chairs program

We invite applications from exceptional early or mid-career
investigators to fill 2 probationary (tenure-track) positions at the
level of Assistant or Associate Professor to support the Cluster of
Research Excellence in Cognitive Neuroscience. If qualifications and
experience warrant, the appointment will be made at the Associate
Professor rank with tenure. Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D.
and/or M.D. or equivalent degree and be recognized internationally for
excellence in cognitive neuroscience research. The successful candidates
must have demonstrated an outstanding research record of publishing in
the highest quality journals, evidence of a successfully funded research
program and supervision of graduate students and/or postdoctoral
fellows. Outstanding researchers in any area of cognitive neuroscience,
including computational, systems and behavioural neuroscience (using
human and/or animal models), will be considered. Candidates must have
excellent oral and written communication skills and provide evidence of
developing and maintaining research collaborations. These positions will
complement three Western Research Chair positions in Cognitive
Neuroscience, which have recently been recruited. The positions will
commence on July 1, 2017 or as negotiated.
The successful candidates will be appointed into an appropriate academic
Department or Faculty at Western and will be expected to establish and
maintain a vigorous externally-funded research program; teach and
supervise undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral research trainees,
and demonstrate the potential for developing innovative approaches
within a collaborative research environment. They will also become
members of the world-renowned Brain and Mind Institute (
www.uwo.ca/bmi
). Facilities at Western include a full range of high and ultra-high
field, research-only, MRI scanners (3T, 7T, and 9.4T), fully equipped,
state of-the-art laboratories for cognitive and behavioural testing in
humans and animals, a sleep laboratory, and access to a large
neurological patient population in affiliated teaching hospitals.
Cognitive Neuroscience is a key area of research strength at Western
University with more than 30 Principal Investigators and nearly 200
trainees in the Brain and Mind Institute.
