We are proud to announce that the 12th issue of the Journal of Sonic Studies is online, entitled “Encounters With South Asia Through Sound.” The papers collected in this volume of the Journal of Sonic Studies can be considered multi-media reports on South Asian soundscapes, both coming from (local) residents or people who have spent a considerable amount of time there. With contributions from Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, Hong Kong, Thailand and several other countries, this twelfth issue offers a rich compilation of aural, visual, and textual samples of many soundscapes from parts of the world which are usually quite underrepresented in current Sound Studies.
