The MUSC Hearing Research Program, in Charleston, S.C., invites applications for an NIDCD funded post-doctoral fellowship on age-related neural changes in speech recognition. Projects in the
Harris laboratory explore neural correlates underlying the temporal processing deficits in older adults. Specifically our laboratory conducts electrophysiologic studies of the auditory
nerve, brainstem and cortex, structural MRI (including diffusion kurtosis imaging), magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and psychoacoustic studies of speech recognition. Our laboratory is a part of a very active Hearing Science Group. The group is highly interactive
and accessible, and the successful candidate can benefit from this expertise and from ongoing collaborations within the group.
Responsibilities will include data collection and analysis of human EEG, MRI, and behavioral data. Ideal candidates should have experience with electrophysiological recording and/or with behavior, and a strong interest in auditory processing. Programming skills (Matlab and/or R) preferred. The position is available immediately. Funding is at an NIH pay scale. MUSC is located on the coastline, in the heart of historic Charleston.
Please email Dr. Kelly C Harris (harriskc@xxxxxxxx) for additional information. Applicants should include a CV and a statement of interests. Kelly Carney Harris, PhD, CCC-A Assistant Professor Charleston, SC 29425-5500 |
