The 22nd International Congress on Acoustics will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on September 5-9, 2016. The Congress venue will be the Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires (UCA).
ICA2016 be organized by the Ibero-american Federation of Acoustics (FIA) and the Argentinian Acousticians Association (AdAA), in cooperation with the Chilean Acoustics Society (SOCHA), under the endorsement of the International Commission for Acoustics (ICA).
Jointly, it will also be held the X Ibero-american Federation of Acoustics Congress, incorporating the XIV Argentinean Congress of Acoustics and the XXVI Meeting of the Brazilian Acoustical Society.
The Congress is officially sponsored by the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP), and the National Council of Acoustical Consultants (NCAC). It is also sponsored by several Universities and Professional Institutions of Latin America.
The technical program will include plenary and keynote lectures, invited, contributed and poster papers covering all aspects of acoustics. There will be an extensive technical exhibition highlighting the latest advances in acoustical products, such as materials, systems and equipment.
Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, is one of the largest cities in the world. It is known as “the Paris of South America” and has a lovely combination of European culture and Latin American spirit that you should experience.
A large and very enthusiastic team is working together to make ICA2016 a great success!
The theme of the Congress is Acoustics for the 21st Century… a challenge for all engineers, technicians, scientists, politicians, and people in general.

The Board of the International Commission for Acoustics (ICA) with the support of the Acoustical Society of America(ASA) has established the ICA-ASA Young Scientist Conference Attendance Grants (YS Grants) Programme to help young acousticians attend International Congresses on Acoustics. The Satellite INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM on MUSIC and ROOM ACOUSTICS (ISMRA) will be hosted in La Plata, Capital of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, following ICA 2016 on September 11-13, 2016. ISMRA 2016 provides an important opportunity for consultants and researchers to learn from each other. Its smaller and more focused format is suitable to enable a very intensive and productive meeting. The Symposium venues will be the Teatro Argentino and the Planetario of the National University of La Plata. The city of La Plata is only 56 km (34.80 mi) from the city of Buenos Aires and the trip takes less than 1 hour by car, bus or train. The conference will include contributed, as well as invited papers, and several special keynote presentations on room and musical acoustics related to its main topics. There will be also technical visits to the more important musical halls of La Plata and Buenos Aires, the Teatro Colón and the Ballena Azul among them, and technical exhibition highlighting the latest advances in acoustical products, such as materials, systems and equipment.
