[AUDITORY] Will I be deaf?

Dear list,

When encouraging people to be interested in hearing impairment, I'd like 
to say "most of us will be deaf". (The more common "1 in 6 adults in the 
UK..." isn't quite as personal.)

My best guess is that this is almost true, given our long life 
expectancy and the increasing risks of presbycusis, but I'd love to be 
able to put a figure on it.

Does anyone on the list have the epidemiological ability (and the data) 
to estimate what proportion of the adult population (in the UK or 
elsewhere) will at some point have a clinically significant hearing loss 
at some point?
