[AUDITORY] Sharing data on electrode placement for different cochlear implant arrays

Hi all,

I have uploaded to researchgate a potentially useful data set for people on this list working with cochlear implants. It is a spreadsheet showing the average (and standard error of the mean) position for all contacts on Contour Advance, HiFocus 1J, Standard, and Flex28 electrode arrays. You can use this data to get a sense of where in the cochlea your stimulation is taking place. Additionally provided is an interpolation of the average spiral ganglion frequency map from Stakhovskaya (2007). Comparing the electrode and spiral ganglion frequency, you can get an estimate of how far off the frequency provided by a given electrode is from the "correct" spiral ganglion place pitch.

You can download it at:

For more information on the data set feel free to ask or refer to:

Landsberger, D. M., Svrakic, M., Roland, J. T., Jr., and Svirsky, M. (2015). "The Relationship Between Insertion Angles, Default Frequency Allocations, and Spiral Ganglion Place Pitch in Cochlear Implants," Ear Hear 36, e207-213.

I hope this is helpful.

David
