PhD position in hearing aid research (Oldenburg University, Eriksholm Research Ce ntre, HörTech Oldenburg)
Dear list,
I would like to announce a PhD position in my group within the Medical
Physics Section, Oldenburg University, Germany in close collaboration
with the Eriksholm Research Centre, Oticon A/S, Denmark, and HörTech
gGmbH, Oldenburg, Germany.
PROJECT TITLE
Effects of advanced hearing aid signal processing on spatial awareness
perception
PROJECT SUMMARY
Hearing-impaired listeners experience great difficulty not only with
participating in group conversations and with listening in noise, but
also with judging distance and movement, especially in complex listening
situations. Current hearing aids can do little to improve these
abilities. This PhD project therefore aims to identify possible avenues
for their improvement by studying the effects of advanced hearing aid
processing schemes on so-called spatial awareness perception. It
constitutes an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual
interested in pursuing experimental hearing aid research at the
intersection of academia and industry.
More information about the project is available from the following website:

Deadline for applications is June 30th 2014. Interested candidates are
welcome to contact me for further details.
Best, Tobias Neher
