ASA meeting announcement
Dear ASA/Auditory folks,
Next week at the ASA meeting Providence there will be a special
sesssion that might be interesting to ASA attendees who are also
music lovers.
On Thursday afternoon starting at 2 PM the session 4pMUa
"Automatic Musical Accompanying Systems" will have talks by
Roger Dannenberg (Carnegie-Mellon), Archia Cont (IRCAM),
Eita Nakamura (Tokyo U), Christopher Raphael (Indiana U),
Teresa Nakra (College of New Jersey), and Sumit Basu (Microsoft).
This will be followed by a demonstration concert starting at
4:45, going until 6, consisting of "Eurydice demo" (Tokyo U),
"'Round Midnight" (Dannenberg, trumpet); "Platonic Harmonic",
(Nakra, violin); "Separation Logic" (Dannenberg, trumpet),
Handel's "Siciliana" (Raphael, oboe), "Brahms and Mozart
concerto excerpts" (Nicholas Kitchen*, violin).
