Sr. Research Software Engineer Position Available

Starkey Hearing Technologies, an equal opportunity employer and a recognized world leader in providing the highest quality hearing technology available, has an exciting opportunity for a full-time senior research software engineer at its international headquarters located in Minnesota, USA. This position is responsible for development of research fitting software for hearing aids by working closely with a team of world-class researchers.

Qualifications

A M.S. degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or computer science and 5+ years of professional software development experience are required. A B.S. degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or computer science and 8+ years of professional software development experience are required. Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic research environment is highly desirable. Experience in hearing aid fitting software development is a plus.

Skills and Knowledge

Proficiency in C# and .Net Windows development environment is required
Proficiency in XML, WPF and WinForm is required
Fluency with modern user interface design methodologies is required
Mastery of all aspects of a complete software development life cycle is required
Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems are required
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
Must possess strong leadership/organization skills and be able to lead the research fitting software development
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work with a team of highly talented researchers effectively
Must be able to dynamically strike a balance between big pictures and details
Must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage deliverables and timelines in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and perform under pressure

Salary
