---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CALL FOR MUSIC SUBMISSION BY 1ST JULY 2013 10th International Symposium on Computer Music Modelling and Retrieval/ Computer Music Multidisciplinary Research 2013 “Sound, Music & Motion” October 15th – 18th 2013, CNRS - Laboratoire de Mécanique et d’Acoustique, Marseille, France Conference website: http://www.cmmr2013.cnrs-mrs.fr Call for paper and poster already available on: http://www.cmmr2013.cnrs-mrs.fr/Call.html We are pleased to announce the call for contributions to music and audio/multimedia installations that will be presented during concerts co-located with the conference CMMR 2013 – “Sound, Music & Motion” . This event will take place in Marseille, CNRS-LMA, October 15th-18th 2013. This year CMMR celebrates its 10th anniversary. For this special occasion the symposium will be held in Marseille, the European Capital of Culture 2013 (http://www.flyprovence.com/en/). ----------------------------------------------------------------- This year, for the first time, CMMR is in partnership with Théâtre des Bernardines (http://www.theatre-bernardines.org/) and Alhambra cinema (http://www.alhambracine.com/) to present three evening concerts. Two concerts will take place at Théâtre des Bernardines during the CMMR conference on the evenings of 15th and 16th October 2013 and one concert/video projection will take place at Alhambra cinema on the evening of 17th October 2013. We invite submissions for music concerts, as well as for sound/media installations to be set up during concert evenings. The conference will also feature poster/demonstration sessions for which we invite submissions of musical interfaces. Topics: Original contributions are encouraged in, but not limited to, the following topics: • All performances related to the conference theme "Sound, Music and Motion" (synthesis, composition, performance, music and motion for the images) • Music for instruments and electroacoustic • Live or recorded electronic music for up to 8 channels • New digital instruments and new controllers / interfaces • Acoustic instrumental music composed by algorithmic tools • Music composed for visuals (e.g., dance and music, soundtracks, multimedia compositions, applied music to dance and movement in general etc.) • Performances of traditional music enhanced with live visualisation or interactive technology • Jazz and improvised music - improvisation software • Installations and interactive pieces Submissions of any musical style or genre are warmly welcomed. For pieces involving traditional instruments, an ensemble consisting of (but not reduced to) electric guitar, piano and percussion (1 player) will be available. Authors are also encouraged to provide their own interpreters/performers. Recorded stereo pieces will be diffused by their author or by an interpreter on a system of 32 loudspeakers. Submissions of 15 minutes or less are preferred, however music of any length will be considered. Submission: All submissions will be peer-reviewed by an international music committee (http://www.cmmr2013.cnrs-mrs.fr/MusicCommittee.html) to ensure quality and suitability. Please submit a proposal following the instructions specified in the Author instruction & Submission section of the CMMR 2013 website. Submitted papers must be camera-ready conforming to the format specified on the CMMR 2013 website.
