Faculty Position The Center for Hearing and Balance and Department of Biomedical Engineering, Johns Hopkins University The Center for Hearing and Balance and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine invite applications for a tenure track position at any level. We seek an individual with strong training in biomedical engineering as it relates to hearing or balance. Candidates with interests in central auditory or vestibular function are particularly encouraged. The candidate should have a PhD in biomedical engineering or a related field, with interest in working with multidisciplinary groups. This individual will be expected to develop an independent research program, interact with clinicians and researchers, serve as a mentor for PhD students, and teach within the biomedical engineering program. The successful candidate will hold a primary tenure-track appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and a secondary appointment in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (Oto-HNS). He or she will be an integral member of the Center for Hearing and Balance (CHB). The CHB is an interdisciplinary collegium of investigators in BME, Oto-HNS, Neuroscience, and Neurology. The CHB provides graduate and post-graduate research training, formal coursework, central research support, a weekly seminar series and other opportunities for formal and informal interaction. Through its interdisciplinary connections, the CHB provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with faculty from departments across the University, including the Schools of Engineering, Medicine, Arts and Sciences, Public Health, and Music.
