POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS
AVAILABLE ** IMMEDIATE OPENINGS! ** UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF SPEECH AND HEARING
SCIENCES Two postdoctoral
fellow
positions are immediately available.
Recent graduates with their PhD in
Neuroscience/Neurobiology, Speech and
Hearing Sciences, Audiology, Biomedical Engineering, or
Psychology are
encouraged to apply. The
ultimate goal
of my program of research is to develop quick and reliable
clinical measures to
inform audiologists of patient-specific optimal cochlear implant
settings. Cochlear implant listeners
often do not have a
full complement of healthy auditory neurons to stimulate and the
positioning of
those neurons and the electrodes is unknown.
We use a multi-faceted approach that involves CT imaging,
psychophysical
measures, computational modeling, clinical fitting and speech
perception
testing. Our research is
highly
translational, with a foundation in basic neuroscience. The University of
Washington is an equal
opportunity/affirmative action employer. The positions
are funded by
an award from the National Institutes of Health (NIDCD). Salary will be commensurate
with the NIH scale
for postdoctoral fellows. To apply, please
send a cover
letter stating research interests, CV and contact information
for 3 references
