Postdoctoral position
Northeastern University, Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology

An NIH-funded post-doctoral research position is available in Ying-Yee Kong's Auditory Prostheses and Communication Laboratory at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. The position is available immediately, for initially 2 years, with the potential for continuation for up to 3 more years.

 

The research will focus on speech perception with combined electric and acoustic stimulation. Candidates should have (or in the final stage) of Ph.D. degree in speech and hearing sciences, psychology, linguistics, engineering, or a related discipline. Ideals candidates should have a strong technical background (Matlab, signal processing) and expertise in auditory psychophysics and speech perception. Individuals with strengths in related areas, such as electrophysiology, mathematical modeling, and algorithm development are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience with cochlear implants and hearing aids is a plus. Good English language and communication skills (oral and written) are required for interaction with patients.
