Re: Auditory transduction video

Hi Ani,

When this video first came out in 2003 we in the Harvard/MIT SHBT program used it as the basis for a qualifying exam question (identify and correct errors and simplifications). It was a good exercise and students identified quite a few. One of the students put together a transcript of the video, and in case it's useful (perhaps you have hearing impaired students in your class) I am attaching it.

Professor Patel,

I have used that video for my class (Introduction to Physiology and Biomechanics of Hearing)
and it worked really well.

I also used the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JE8WduJKV4

And here's another:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-izelfgxmw
Warning, this one is really old (1940's) and a bit long.  But I really like parts of it.

Enjoy

Dear Colleagues,

I am thinking of showing this ~7-minute animation of auditory transduction
to an intro psyc of music class for undergrads.  The students come from
diverse backgrounds and some have no scientific or musical background.

Is anyone aware of alternative videos on this topic?

Comments on this video are also welcome, if any experts out there spot
serious problems. (Please keep in mind that this video is intended to be
introductory, and naturally involves a good deal of simplification.)
