Postdoc position at the Acoustics Research Institute, Austrian Academy of Sciences A Postdoc position (100%, 3 years) is available at the Acoustics Research Institute (ARI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna, Austria. ARI is an interdisciplinary research institution covering the fields of psychoacoustics, numerical acoustics, acoustical phonetics, and mathematical signal processing. The position is available as part of the project "BiPhase", funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). BiPhase focuses on linking binaural hearing, particularly interaural-time-difference (ITD) perception, and phase effects of the cochlea. The main goals are to describe how the cochlear phase response affects ITD sensitivity both in the healthy and damaged cochlea and to develop an ITD-based psychophysical method to measure the cochlear phase response. The successful candidate will be part
of the Psychoacoustics and Experimental Audiology group. She/he
will
design, implement, and conduct psychophysical experiments with
normal-hearing and hearing-impaired listeners, and analyze as well
as
publish the results.
Applicants should submit a letter of application, a list of publications, and recommendation letter(s) until Dec. 15th 2012 to: Bernhard Laback The Austrian Academy of Sciences is an equal-opportunity employer, female applicants are to be preferentially considered in case of equal qualification. Disabled persons with equal qualification will be given preference. |
