Tenure-track Position in Entertainment Engineering and Computational Media

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Drexel University is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenure-track position specializing in entertainment engineering and computational media. In particular, we are interested in individuals connecting engineering, design, computing, and the creative and performing arts. Possible areas of expertise include sound-music computing, human-machine interaction, performing arts technology, computer vision, gesture- and movement-based computing, information visualization, digital art, and social media. Preference will be given to candidates with interests that cross multiple fields, particularly those whose work blends computing and the arts.
 
Candidates should be individuals who would thrive in a creative, collaborative, and innovation-driven research environment that integrates multiple disciplines. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and academic training in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a closely-related field.  They should have outstanding academic credentials that clearly demonstrate the ability to conduct independent and successful research and develop a graduate research program leading to peer-reviewed publications and external research support. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and share a commitment to engage in high-quality undergraduate and graduate education. The Drexel ECE department offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in electrical engineering with several areas of specialization as well as a new undergraduate minor in entertainment engineering. The department also has a very active and vibrant PhD program with more than 100 students currently enrolled.
