Call for applications: transatlantic student/postdoc/staff exchanges
Dear all,
The Erasmus Mundus training network in Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience
is accepting applications for student and staff exchanges between the
EU and North-America. Please see below for details.
In a nutshell, the program gives attractive monthly stipends and
travel funds to send students, postdocs, and PIs to a member lab
across the Atlantic. We are unlikely to fill all exchange spots with
students from the member labs, and encourage applications from
students, post doctoral fellows, and staff members working in auditory
neuroscience at universities or institutes in one of the participating
countries: Germany, UK, France, Finland, Canada, and the USA.

Call for applications: Six to ten month mobility fellowships in
Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience (deadline: June 15th, 2011)
Description: The ERASMUS MUNDUS ACN training network is recruiting
graduate students and postdocs working in the field of Auditory
Cognitive Neuroscience to participate in transatlantic exchanges
between the member universities and institutions.
Stipends: Awards include a monthly stipend of 1500 EUR (doctoral
level), 1800 EUR (postdoctoral level), or 2500 EUR (PIs and staff),
and a one?time lump sum of 2000 EUR for travel expenses.
Eligibility: Ph.D. students, post?docs and staff members at all
partner institutions are eligible to apply. Applications from students
at any other institution of higher education in the partner countries
(Germany, UK, France, Finland, Canada, USA) will be accepted as well,
but priority is given to applications from within the network.
Students are expected to conduct research with a PI at a member
institution.
Duration: Student fellowships are awarded for 6?10 months at one of
the partner locations across the Atlantic. Travel may begin as early
as July 1st 2011, but must begin before December 31st 2011. The total
time of the exchange may be divided into two or more trips, if the
project clearly requires this (the travel lump?sum is only awarded
once). Staff fellowships are awarded from 1?3 months. Staff
applications are accepted at any time.
Guidelines: Please examine carefully the research interests of the
participating scientists. Detailed descriptions of research
opportunities can be found at their websites (listed on ?Participating
Scientists? page). We strongly recommend that applicants first contact
the prospective supervisors via email to discuss possible research
projects. Complete the application form (Download on ?Apply for a
Grant?) and obtain the signature of your current and the proposed
supervisor on this application. In addition, applicants must arrange
to have recommendation letters submitted by the current and the
proposed supervisor. A curriculum vita should also be sent with the
application package. Applications are to be sent to acn@uni?leipzig.de
by June 15th, 2011. Awards announcements are expected to be made
within three weeks.
