Applications are invited for a Ph.D. position to work on
sound and speech perception by hearing-impaired listeners in complex listening
environments. The research in our lab focuses on identifying problems
that hearing-impaired listeners encounter in daily life, with the ultimate goal of proposing solutions
to these problems. We work closely with users of hearing aids and cochlear
implants, as well as the manufacturers of these devices. The research is conducted in the Department of
Otorhinolaryngology of the University Medical Center Groningen and the PhD
program is for 4 years. Individuals with a background in a related field (such as engineering, audiology, neuroscience, psychology) and who are interested in working with people are invited to apply.
