AW: [AUDITORY] AW: Daniel & Weber Roughness Implementation
While implementing the Aures version of roughness calculation for the still to come psychoacoustics module by SINUS Messtechnik, I found several details that may lead to total nonsense in the calculation. We stuck to the Aures variant due to the demand for real-time capabilites on a realtively low power system. Daniel & Weber ist basically the same with double the channels, so I guess the problems are the same.
Reinhard, is there a way to have a look at your implementation?

Julian,
I tried to use the roughnesses according to Daniel
and Weber to "improve" the Helmholtz consonance
theory. Result: There were no consonance peaks
(or roughness valleys) such as those in Fig. 60
of Helmholtz's book "On the Sensations of Tone".
Helmholtz assumed that maximal roughness
occurs at comparatively low beat rate.
My own roughness measurements (not yet
published) agreed fairly well with Helmholtz.
Reinhart.

Dear list,
I'm trying to find a software implementation of
Daniel & Weber Roughness model, besides the one
included in Psysound3.
I appreciate your comments on this.
Thank you,
Julian Villegas
