CO-DIRECTOR: SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA AUDITORY PERCEPTION LAB
The Auditory Perception Research Laboratory at the VA Northern
California Clinic is searching for a co-director to oversee ongoing
research programs developing improved tests of peripheral and central
auditory processing and training procedures for hearing rehabilitation
following aging, hearing loss, and traumatic brain injury. This is a
full-time research position at the equivalent of Assistant or Associate
Professor Level with up to three years of salary and research support
deriving from existing research grants. The applicant is expected to
develop successful independent research programs during the 3-yr period.
The applicant will join a productive team of investigators who study
auditory neuroscience and hearing rehabilitation (see

information). Post-doctoral training, evidence of research
productivity, and prior grant funding are highly desirable. Resources
include sound booths and testing rooms for physiological, psychophysical
and behavioral experiments, DPOAE and ABR recording systems, a B&K HATS
system, and auditory stimulation systems for fMRI experimentation.
Other hardware includes a Philips Eclipse 1.5T MRI scanner (to be
upgraded to 3T in 2009), Bio-semi EEG and ERP recording systems, a
Magstim TMS stimulator, and an SR eye tracking systems. Opportunities
exist for UC faculty appointments and collaborations with scientists at
UC Davis and UC Berkeley. US citizenship is preferred. Salary:
$70,000-$100,000 depending on experience. Interested candidates should
