Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Auditory Neuroscience
Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, University of Oxford
SALARY SCALE â Grade 7, in the range Â26,666 â Â32,796, with a discretionary range to Â35,837
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the Oxford Auditory Neuroscience Group (http://www.oxfordhearing.com), based in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, from 1 January 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post is available until February 2011, and is funded through a programme grant to Andrew King from the Wellcome Trust. We use a multidisciplinary approach, embracing behavioural, electrophysiological, anatomical and computational methods, to investigate the neural basis for auditory perception. We are particularly interested in the plasticity of information processing at higher levels of the auditory system, induced as a result of learning on specific perceptual tasks, interactions with other sensory modalities or following different types of hearing loss. Highly motivated individuals with a PhD and expertise in electrophysiological, behavioural or computational approaches to brain function, as well as an interest in neural coding and plasticity are encouraged to apply.
Further particulars and details of how to apply are available from reference@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or telephone +44(0)1865 272465.
