Aim:
As in the case of the previous conferences in this series, the
aim of
ISMA 2007 is to
bring together international leaders of the musical acoustics
field and
to provide them
with a platform to report and discuss recent research and
developments.
The central
theme of ISMA 2007 is “Scientific design of musical instruments:
a tool
to preserve
and improve our musical heritage”.
General topics:
• String instruments
• Wind instruments and pipe organs
• Percussion instruments
• The singing voice
• Perception of musical sounds
• Electronic musical instruments
Special Topics:
• The scientific design of musical instruments
• Physical modelling and sound synthesis
• Non-linear phenomena in musical acoustics
Solicited papers:
The conference will comprise papers for oral presentations of 15
min + 5 min
discussion, and posters with 5 min oral presentation (and
optional
publication of an
associated manuscript in the proceedings).
