Narrow or Broad Perspective

Rather than examine a specific aspect of auditory perception, for the last 5 years, I have been research the phenomenon of how real people experience real sounds in real spaces in real life. Obviously the techniques are different than those that can be used in the laboratory.

The results of this work have been published in Spaces Speak, Are You Listening? Experiencing Aural Architecture, which MIT Press just released. Additional information about the book can be found at the MIT Press web at: http://mitpress.mit.edu/catalog/item/default.asp?ttype=2&tid=10947 and I can provide copies of the Introduction and Table of Contents if you send me an email requesting them.

Because the narrow are the broad perspectives are so different, the task for all of us who want to expand knowledge is to build bridges between the two perspectives, easier said than done.

Feel free to continue this dialog by emailing your comments.
