DeLiang,

It was nice to run into you and get advance notice of your book, so I 
got my copy via Amazon already.  Hopefully my employer can afford to 
not take advantage of the nice discount offer.

The book is quite beautiful and comprehensive, and I believe will 
contribute to progress in this field by systematizing what's known 
already.

I appreciate the historical coverage of the early contributions to 
the field by my group at Schlumberger Palo Alto Research (Weintraub, 
Slaney, and myself) in the 1980s.  Your book with Guy will help me 
catch up with recent work and become a contributor again, I hope.
