Dear Superk,

there is a musical tone model called the "sound object". It's a general 
scheme for sound description and was created by Pierre Schaeffer, a 
french composer. Pierre Schaeffer worked in a sound lab and researched 
on this topic in order to find a sound description scheme that is 
independent from subjective hearing experience. He describes the 
"reduced listening", a listening mode, which is hard to learn but 
enables you to describe the sound in a very general way. It deals with 
terms like "mass", "grain", "sharpness", ...
Unfortunately it is quite hard to find some good information on the 
internet. So, if you are interested in Pierre Scheffer's Sound Objects, 
just let me know.
