equivalence principle

Dear Auditory list,

I recently came to know of  the ?equivalence principle? by Terhardt (and 
Suchowerskyj ?? ) and of a complementary ?dominance principle? (not to be 
confused with the ?dominant spectral region?). Both these principles relate 
the weight of perceptual variables to their variability in terms of JNDs.

Sadly the reference literature I´m aware of is mostly in German. Can somebody 
point me to English literature on these issues, eventually including recent 
developments?
