The School of Healthcare at the University of Leeds is offering a 3 year PhD studentship in areas of auditory perception and speech perception. Attached is the advert and further details are additionally given below. Please feel free to distribute this as you see fit.

PhD STUDENTSHIP IN AUDIOLOGY
The School of Healthcare wishes to wishes to attract a high-quality student to study in the area of auditory perception. People with a degree in audiology, the behavioural, or speech sciences (at upper second class or Masters) are invited to apply for a three year PhD studentship, starting in October 2005. You will receive an annual tax-free stipend in the range £12,000 to £13,000, with increases in years 2 and 3, plus tuition fees and an annual research expenses allowance. You will be able to undertake some paid employment by mutual agreement.
The School, which has a vibrant research community and received a 4 in the 2001 RAE, welcomes enquiries in the following areas:
(i) Spatial hearing & vision (ii) Auditory processing, phonological processing, cognition and literacy
The successful applicant will be supervised by Dr Nick Thyer.
