Research position at UCL
Research Opportunity: Department of Phonetics and Linguistics, UCL.
A research position is available to work on the project "Optimization
of voice pitch information in cochlear implant speech processing", funded
by the Royal National Institute for Deaf People, and led by Dr
A Faulkner and Professor S Rosen.
Candidates require a good first degree in speech science, psychology or
a related discipline and a good knowledge of speech, hearing and acoustics.
A higher degree and/or post-graduate research experience would be an
advantage, as would skills in computer programming, signal processing
and/or experience of working with profoundly hearing impaired adults.
The main responsibility of the post is to carry out speech perception
and psychoacoustic experiments with both adult cochlear implant
users and normally hearing adults.
Starting salary on the RA1A scale in the range £18909 to £20865
inclusive of London Allowance.
The position is for a fixed period of 36 months, starting as soon as
possible and not later than 02 January 2001.
