AUDITORY list, after all), the question seems rather moot.  Surely
o one is claiming that a cepstral transform is *really* performed
in the hearing process.  DAn Ellis told me once with regard to
a different problem that "if your [auditory] representation is so
fragile that you have to worry about numerical accuracy, you're using
the wrong representation" and I think this advice applies well
here too.
