The Praat program (http://www.fon.hum.uva.nl/praat/) can do spectral analysis
on Macintosh, Windows, SGI, Linux, Solaris, and HPUX.

You can choose from several window types, including double Kaiser,
which has a sidelobe ripple of -190 dB. The Hamming window, with a ripple
of -40 dB, is often not good enough for clean signals.
Praat displays the spectrogram on your screen in 30 shades of grey,
or on your PostScript printer either in photocopyable or publication quality.
You can also include the spectrograms as EPS pictures in your favourite
word processor.

The Praat program is shareware. You can obtain the address of the download
page by writing a message to me.

Best wishes,
